This is the verse that the kids had to memorize for VBS today. All the kids at my house have it down and I KNOW the kiddos at Michele's have it done!!! lol Thanks for taking the kids to VBS for me Michele...the kiddos are having a great time with their cousins!

What's for dinner?

This time I tried fried chicken for the first time. I found this quirky recipe using cream of chicken soup to soak them in and adding corn starch to get a little extra crisp to them. I think it turned out great...No, not the most healthy meal, but definately reminds me of great childhood memories. My house smells of fried chicken and homemade bread....LOVE IT! I also made my own tortillas the other night. Need to do some fine tuning on those, but they still tasted good. This is my second attempt at the bread and this time I cut the sugar from 2/3 c to 1/3 c and it was even better. I'll add that 1/3 c back when I venture to making some kind of sweet breakfast bread. Mom and Dan were at work so Cesar took some over to their house...we'll see if they like it. :0 ) Hope you are all having a great weekend! Love you!!

I MADE BREAD FROM SCRATCH!!

Please don't panic...I don't know what got into me. I made homemade bread...from scratch!! I made 3 loafs of bread today. The first was not the best, so I made another batch immediately. It made the house smell good and it tasted great. I just wanted it to be a bit lighter. The second tured out PERFECTLY! I could hardly believe it. I did try a slightly different recipe, and am over the moon with the results. The third loaf is rising right now. Here are some pics...please just indulge me. :0 ) The first three are of the second attempt. LOVED THEM!!! I was able to get ALL of the kids to eat ALL of their salad because they were not allowed to have bread otherwise LOL !!!!!

First Fish...

Cesar took Mitch and Lucca fishing today. Only one fish was caught...Lucca's first fish!! On his new spiderman pole... I believe it was only 3 or 4 inches...he he he Lucca reeled it in with only a little help from his big bro Mitch... Cesar was messing around with his pole when Lucca kept saying "Fishy, fishy, fishy..." on and on he went. Mitch finally went over, Lucca was reeling in something... Finally they saw it! Cesar still didn't believe it until he looked over and what did he see? This beautiful smiling face with an ity bity fish in his hands!!!
